Roveen's Nostalgic Sambandha with King's

Roveen’s Nostalgic Smabandha with King’s

The reason I am studying MBA is because of the Nostalgic Sambandha with King’s College. Sounds eccentric, but yes. I was born and raised in this locality. The plot where this humongous building stands right now used to be an open ground where we used to play cricket, football, hopscotch and what not. While this building was in the process of construction, there are several hilarious experiences I had as a kid. Soon after the full-fledged establishment of the college, it did grab the entire attention. King’s College used to conduct several programs and I used to spend my winter vacation sun basking and watching the live competitions, particularly basketball. I’ve also witnessed concerts that had artists like Yama Buddha. I was stunned to see how cool the college was. And what else do we expect from a guy who had just hit the teenage?

I used to meet Dai Didis of King’s in cafeterias and outside the premises. The robust personality and good communication skills that they had persuaded me to explore the academic culture. I was always curious to know how things are done around King’s.  Eventually, I studied science after school and King’s did not have the stream. However, MBA has been a second chance to life that I am still trying to make the most out of it despite the pandemic.

As far as academics are concerned, King’s is quite popular for its innovative courses. The college is liberal enough while providing professional courses based on the preferences of the students. When it comes to preferences, entrepreneurship has always been my cup of tea. And as a business graduate who is trying to continue the legacy of professional advocacy, the things that I am studying in MBA has been extremely instrumental. Working at a law firm encountering clients and their problems is always intimidating. Adhering to emotional biases and being overly empathetic is detrimental to the business. It’s almost the end of 2021 and I firmly believe that whatever I have studied in MBA has added value to my entire personality. Cut to 2019; while I was not-so-good while solving the problems. However, as of now, I have undergone numerous corrective actions.

Apart from learning, the college is a platform for developing networking skills. The diversified courses that the college provides have brought all of the professionals to one podium. Be it engineers, pharmacists, lawyers, chartered accountants, agriculturists, media people, we can befriend everyone. Throughout the period spent at King’s, I’ve been able to understand the importance of social capital for an entrepreneur. I believe that friends from MBA are the friends for life as most of us have already started the business in Nepal or are willing to.
