Education + Design + Entrepreneurship

DoLAB was established in 2018 at King’s College, Nepal as a part of the college’s incubation and entrepreneurship education efforts. At DoLAB we continually learn, experiment with and create programs that catalyze and manifest innovation. This includes taking experiences of working with the industry into the classroom and bringing innovation and design practices from the classroom to the industry. We base our activities in the principles of human centered design and merge Education, Design and Entrepreneurship. Our method is based on the Lab Studio Model, designed in Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland.

DoCAMP @ Panchkhal

A 5-day residential workshop at Panchkhal where entrepreneurs, students from the community and students from King’s College came together to work on ideas for various opportunities in the community.

DoSHOP for YUWA

A 30-day engagement for youths from YUWA where we worked together to create human centered ideas around climate change and SRHR themes.

RESA Incubation Program - Design Sprint

We conducted a 4-day design sprint for the participants of ICIMOD’s RESA Incubation Program in collaboration with Nepal Communitere to help them incorporate Renewable Energy solutions in agriculture.

Human Centered Approach to Incubation and Acceleration

A five day design thinking based workshop for entrepreneurs and innovators in Surkhet and Achham in collaboration with DSV Advisors.

Little Big Bootcamp

A 3-part grant writing bootcamp for innovators in the non-profit sector.

DoSHOP for The Asia Foundation

A workshop for participants from five different organizations working for women-empowerment to find a common ground to work on and find ways to add value as members of a collaboration.

Immers-ED

A 1-month Project Based Learning online course exploring the future Communiversity idea at King’s broadly based on human centered design.

Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge

A 5-day workshop and 1-month mentorship program for 50+ all female participants organized in collaboration with Tyrocity (King’s Alumni) and UNICEF.

Country VS Covid-19 virtual workshops

We participated as facilitators in Impact Week’s initiative to run virtual design thinking workshops across Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa as well as Nepal during the Covid-19 crisis.

Concept Development for Impact

As a part of the BUCSBIN collaboration, coaches & lab masters from DoLAB as well as students from King’s took part in a 5-day residential Lab Studio based workshop.

Do Shop for Rotaractors

A workshop organized for Rotaract District Nepal to help their team ideate new and impactful community activities.

Do Camp for Agripreneurs

A 3-day workshop for industry professionals from across the country in collaboration with Caritas and Eco Himal Nepal to solve agriculture related issues in Nepal.

What we do

Do Camp

3 to 5-day camps designed to take participants through a highly engaging and intense process to understand the principles of human centered design in a hands-on manner around real design problems around us.

Concept / Demo Creation

2-month, 6-credit (each) programs designed and implemented at King’s College for MBA, BBA and BSIT students along with select industry professionals. Inspired by the LAB Studio Model designed in Oulu University of Applied Sciences, these programs act as pre-incubators to help develop products, services and processes along with a self-directed, creative, collaborative, critical thinking and entrepreneurial mindset in participants.
